Artist Francis Antony Kodankandath received the 46th National Akademi Award for the painting titled ‘Restoration Within’ in 2004. Artist Kodankandath tries to convey the message of Self-Restoration or Spiritual Renewal using a real life example of the restoration of a colossal structure, a cathedral in Kerala, India.
De Coding Da Vinci series was selected by 'Swarnarekha' (Exhibition of National & Triennale Awardees, Lalit Kala Akademi), New Delhi in 2004. This world famous painting series by Kodankandath were highly debated in the artist community as artist successfully disprove author Dan Brown’s claims in his best seller book The Da Vinci Code, artist used the same mirror technology based paintings to disprove Dan’s claims.
Panchavadhyam (Thalavatam) another painting series selected by National Lalit Kala Akademi, Delhi for The National Exhibition of Art -1994. The First Painting from the "Outcry Series" painted at National Artist Camp organized by the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi, and it is now part of their collections. Artist's unique style and theme based artworks are highly acclaimed and recognized through out India and other part of the world.
India Today Group selected Artist Kodankandath to paint the portrait of H E Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, The President of India, for their 50th Anniversary special Issue of Readers Digest Magazine. The Week Magazine selected the Artist to paint the portrait of Mrs. Indira Gandhi former Prime Minister of India. Artist had been nominated to participate in All India Artists Camp by Central Board of Direct Taxes, New Delhi.
