Francis Kodankandath a long-time supporter of the Tibet Cause and Culture

Artist Francis Kodankandath is a long-time supporter of the Tibet Cause and Tibet Culture and has conducted a series of exhibitions dedicated to the Tibet cause and culture. Tibet-Dreams exhibition is the recent expression of the same.

Tibet Dreams is a collection of used traditional Tibetan clothes representing the three regions of Tibet - Amdo, Kham and U-Tsang. Kodankandath on asking about it had told that he wanted to portray the day to day angst of the Tibetan public. These clothes with the sweat of the Tibetans represent their day to day struggle inside Chinese infested Tibet. These costumes are painted with pictures and motifs of Tibetan life. The art exhibition started its pan India journey Jahangir Art Gallery,Mumbai.

On the 69^th birthday of HH the Dalai Lama in 2004, which is also observed as World Tibet Day', Friends of Tibet presented the Nobel Laureate H H The Dalai Lama , Tibetan Dreams, a painting by Artist Kodankandath that brings to life the story of Tibet. On November 25, 2012, His Holiness the Dalai Lama visited Francis Kodankandath's 'Art of Happiness' art show in Kerala organised by Friends of Tibet. And as part of the World Tibet Day 2015, Francis had dedicated and exhibited a painting depicting the outlawed Tibetan National Flag and honoring His Holiness The Dalai Lama on his 80th Birthday.
