Artist Kodankandath is very much fascinated with music and have studied both Carnatic and Hindustani Indian classical music, along with sitar which additionally helped him with this artwork series. Artist painted the Indian Classical musical scale notes Sa Ri Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni, Raag Arabhi Musical Scale and Raag Bilaval Musical Scale.
Artist had primarily painted this series to visually depict the notes of the music for his friend who was born deaf in both ears, to experience it with the help of colors.
In this series Artist painted many well acclaimed paintings that got worldwide attention and appreciations. One of the paintings in this series was selected by the Reader’s Digest as its cover for the May 2001 issue.
