Artist Kodankandath received the First State award for the painting titled 'The School Group Photo' in 1986. The painting titled 'The Remaining Bloodline (Sheshikkunnuvar)' received the Second State Award in year 1990. The painting titled 'The First Supper' won the Third State Award by Lalitha Kala Akademi in 1993.
Artist Kodankandath also won the most prestigious Biennale Awards, National Akademi Awards, International Recognition, In 2004, Kodankandath was selected for the Triennale and National Awardees Exhibition. An eco-friendly Artist conducted live painting events for various social causes and expressed the protest against deforestation, communal violence, Tibetan causes and Kashmir unrest.
