Artist Francis Antony Kodankandath won the Third Kerala State Award from Kerala State Lalithakala Akademi for this painting titled 'The First Supper' in 1993. This painting is one of the first suppers Jesus had with his Disciples together for the first time. Kodankandath has created 53 such ‘Supper’ paintings, no one painting alike, with certain elements changed or moved around under this series and will continue to create more.
As per the Bible, Jesus lived a public life for 3 years with his disciples, and mathematically it would mean that Jesus Christ had 1095 suppers ( 365 days * 3= 1095), including his last, that has already been painted by Leonardo Da’ Vinci.
