Artist Kodankandath had the honor of painting a live portrait (in person) of Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam in the year 2005. Even being the President of India, Dr. Kalam remained calm, composed and patient in front of the Artist Kodankandath, as Kodankandath tried to capture him on a canvas. Every conversation Kodankandath shared, Dr. Kalam would always try to match Artist thoughts about art with his thoughts about science, humble through and through.
